At BRG, we developed a unique workflow - RH-Aan@ to address the reservoir heterogeneity problems. The workflow includes followings:
- Interpreting all electro-facies using borehole images calibrated with core;
- Studying all mudstone or shaly zones in detail based on available data;
- Characterizing each shaly zone in terms of type, thickness, geometry, etc. and understanding each shale’s position in the depositional sequence;
- Evaluating each sandy facies and shaly facies’ reservoir properties – Kv, Kh, and NTG - using a proven, advanced modeling technology that integrates core or sidewall core analysis data, petrophysical data and dynamic data, i.e. MDT data, PLT data, and well testing, if available;
- Upscaling porosity and directional perm properties using an advanced flow-simulation technique and outputting upscaled properties for client’s field scale reservoir modeling/simulation input;
- Recommendations.
